Wipak (UK) Ltd
IPPC Consultants were selected again to assist one of the UK’s largest flexible food packaging firms to apply for a bespoke Part A permit for a medium combustion plant (MCP) as part of a multi-million pound investment for the Welshpool production facility. The application has involved detailed habitats impact assessments for the new boiler plant. IPPC Consultants assisted Wipak in 2010 producing an A2 permit applictaion for its facility.
DACSA Ltd
IPPC Consultants have been appointed by DACSA to complete a minor technical variation of the Part A permit for its corn mill located at Liverpool Docks.
Cobalt Energy
IPPC Consultants completed a Part A Permit transfer on behalf of Cobalt Energy as the new operator of the Welland BioPower waste wood gasification plant in Northamptonshire. IPPC Consultants also assisted with environmental permit support during the change of operator.

JG Pears
IPPC Consultants has assisted JG Pears animal by-products and JG Pears Power Ltd to produce and submit two Part A permit applications to the Environment Agency for a Cat 3 poultry by-products installtion and a 46MW biomass MBM CHP. The CHP facility was deliverred by AET of Denmark which has now been operating for 3 years generating steam and electricity to the by-products processing facility and exporting excess electricity to the grid.

Hyde Coatings
Hyde Coatings at Stalybridge are a specialist metal surface treament facility specialising in surface treatments for aerospace and aumotive components. IPPC Consulants completed and submitted a Part A (bespoke) Permit variation to the Environment Agency.
Derby City Council
IPPC Consultants were awarded a three year contract in 2018 by Derby City Council to complete the Councils’ industrial process regulation and permitting function. The city is home to Rolls Royce aerospace engines which currently has both Part B and A2 permits along with Alstom trains manufacturing facility which holds a Part B permit for paint spraying of trains and rolling stock.
South Norfolk Council
IPPC Consultants have been contracted to South Norfolk Council to complete their LA-PPC inspection programme. The work begins in May 2014.
Quat-Chem Ltd, Rochdale
Quat-Chem Ltd of Rochdale are a specialist chemical manufacturer in the filed of producing biocide and disinfecting products. The site currently holds a Part A (simplified permit) with the Environment Agency. IPPC Consultants assisted Quat-Chem in a recent variation application for a new simplified permit. www.quatchem.com
FM Coatings Ltd, Tyneside
IPPC Consultants have supported FM Coatings based in the North East to produced their solvent management plan for submission to the local authority. The company spray paints motor vehicle components in a state of the art automated factory using the latest spray techniques and robotic spray lines. www.fmcoatings.co.uk
North East Derbyshire District Council and Bolsover District Council
IPPC Consultants have delivered the Council’s LA-PPC inspection programme and dealt with over 100 planning consultations. The contract has been extended to continue support to the EH department on planning work and LA-PPC whilst the authority completed its merger of services with Bolsover District Council.
Bailey Trailers, Sleaford
IPPC Consultants have been contracted by Bailey Trailers of Sleaford to provide technical support for the companies application for a Permit under LA-PPC legislation. The work involves advising on coatings, VOC management, operating proceedues, monitoring and submission of documentation and compliance demonstration. On going support has continued for several years prodcuing the facilities annual solvent management plan required by the permit.

South Kesteven District Council
IPPC Consultants via Osborne Richardson consultancy are pleased to be assisting the pollution control team at South Kesteven District Council in Lincolnshire. The contract starts in August 2012 and was continued for three year. Services provided include noise, LA-PPC, planning applications, contaminated land and statutory nuisance.
Chesterfield Borough Council
Chesterfield Borough Council appointed IPPC Consultants in 2011 to provide interim cover for Senior Environmental Health Officer in the pollution control section and Team Manager of the Food and Health & Safety Team. Work involves IPPC inspection, contaminated land and statutory nuisance investigation. The project continued for 2 years.

A2 IPPC Applications for Wipak UK and Castalum Ltd (Welshpool)
IPPC Consultants have been busy helping two companies complete their LA-IPPC applications in the welsh town of Welshpool in North Wales. Wipak UK Ltd are a major producer of flexible packaging for the food industry with Cathedral City cheese being one of their familar packaging products. The process using large quantities of solvents in its printing process and requires its existing Part B permit to be upgraded to an A2.
Castalum Ltd is a major die-casting operation producing alluminium die-cast casing for gearboxes and power steering housing. The process accomodated eleven aluminium melters and die-cast pressess.
H1 air emission impact assessments had to be undertaken as part of the A2 application due to both installations being situated close to sites of special scientific interest.
European Union 7th Framework Research Project
IPPC Consultants Ltd are proud to announce that it is a consortium member of the European Union 7th Framework project to develop a web base environmental consultancy tool kit for the implementation of IPPC legislation, EMS and emissions trading. The project was a joint consortium bid lead by the Malta Industrial Innovation for SMEs organisation. The work involves IPPC Consultants Ltd providing technical IPPC advice and knowledge to the research project which will involve working with other EU members based in Malta, Spain, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and the Netherlands.


The inaugural meeting of consortium members took place in Brussels in 2010 with EU officials. The project began in December at the Malta Industrial Innovation for SMEs. Further meetings have been held in Barcelona (Feb 2011), Istanbul (May 2011), Netherlands (September 2011) and Bratislava in January 2012. Halton Borough Council
Halton Borough Council has appointed IPPC Consultants for a third year to assist the authority in completing some of the routine inspection Part B and A2 PPC processes. The project is to begin in September 2010.
